Powerful Grounding Techniques to Help You Sleep Better Using the 5 Senses

1.Sound


While some people like silence, others prefer ambient music or natural sounds playing softly in the background.


2.Touch

Before night, give yourself a self-massage to assist your body detox, relieve tension, and improve your sleep.


Vata energy is dry and light, so if you are experiencing racing thoughts then warm oil can be really ground, nurture and balance you.


3.Sight


Creating darkness to rise melatonin will help. To boost melatonin levels, turn off the lights. Try sleeping in a fully black room without any light.


Visualization has also been scientifically demonstrated to assist people in falling asleep more quickly.


Visualize yourself in a relaxing environment, such as resting on a beach, or imagine yourself slowly unraveling a ball of string and letting it pile up at your feet.


4.Taste


Herbal tea has been shown in tests to help you obtain a better night's sleep. Before going to bed, take a cup of warm, calming herbal tea.


Chamomile tea has an antioxidant called apigenin which will help initiate sleep, as well as a combination of tulsi, holy basil, lavender, valerian, rose and lemon balm.

5. Smell


Aromatherapy can help to calm the mind for a more restful slumber, such as sandalwood and in my opinion, lavender.


Final thoughts.


Remove the clutter from your head from the day, at least 1 hour before bed. Turn off the computer and electronics. Here are some suggestions for calming your mind before going to bed.
